Root canal therapy is one of the most common types of endodontic treatment. We may suggest root canal therapy if a tooth’s inner tissues, including the dental pulp and tooth nerves, have become infected or damaged. In many cases, this damage and infection results in serious tooth pain. When not properly treated, tooth infection can lead to the death of the tooth and eventually require tooth extraction. In order to prevent this and restore the health of the tooth, our dentists will gently open the tooth, remove the infected tissues, and thoroughly clean the tooth. We will reshape the root canal system and fill the tooth with a medicated, rubber-like material that will treat the infection, alleviate the tooth pain, and restore the tooth’s inner structure. Finally, to restore the tooth’s shape and function, we cap the tooth with a custom-made dental crown or another type of restoration. In most cases, Drs. Li, Lim, Gee, Oo, and Sin can complete a root canal in Arcadia, California, in just one or two comfortable visits to our office.
